Welcome patients to Sweetwater Pulmonary Associates new facility located conveniently in Sugar Land at the intersection of Highway 59 and Sweetwater Boulevard. Dr. Desai completed Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine from Louisiana State University . He has been in private practice for the last fifteen years. Dr. Desai has admitting privileges at Memorial Hermann,Methodist Hospital, St. Luke's Hospital and Kindred Hospital. Dr. Desai also has satellite offices in Wharton, as well as Eagle Lake and serves as team physician for the Sugar Land Skeeters.
Dr. Desai treats patients with dyspnea, copd/emphysema, asthma, lung mass, pulmonary hypertension, pulmonary fibrosis, sleep apnea, chronic cough and pleural effusion.
They also offer support for smoking cessation and perform tests in office including pulmonary function and spirometry.

Some conditions are more common than others. Among the most recognized are:
- Shortness of breath, or difficulty breathing
- Smoking
- Asthma
- Obesity
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
- Bronchitis/emphysema

How Do I Prepare for a PFT?
- Refrain from smoking several hours prior to your test.
- Refrain from using any breathing medications for four hours before the test.
- Refrain from using Nebulizer Treatment or inhalers.
- Avoid eating a heavy meal before you come in.
